@root FFS he doesn’t even look like he’s concentrating on the music. He’s planning his next Lego project and thinking about sandwiches while knocking out some Chopin…

Nodding very much about this. Some great comments in the thread too.

“Because in 10 years nothing you built today that depends on JS for the content will be available, visible, or archived anywhere on the web.

All your fancy front-end-JS-required frameworks are dead to history, a mere evolutionary blip in web app development practices. Perhaps they provided interesting ephemeral prototypes, nothing more.”

@root IMO go wysiwyg if you can, otherwise you’re pretty much definitely limiting your audience to a geeky one…

Have you looked at Summernote? - or Froala?

Ok maybe all this screwing around with a WYSIWYG editor is a waste of time. Better to just have plain markdown input and save me the headache.

My javascript is weak…

@root heyup (sorry! for some reason I didn’t get a notification of this…??) - personally I really like Sam Harris’ Waking Up app. I have a “month free” link, will punt this to you on Discord…

hey @dmje, looking to start off the new year with a good mindfulness or meditation resource that I can follow daily. Any idea what to start with? Maybe something in audiobook format? I guess there should be a wiki page under this community for beginner resources!

hey there @root,

so after having done another article, i can say for certain that i can’t have more then one image, if i put another one, it just puts twice the same image in the two frames.

Also, very confusing (to me at least), i keep by mistake try and go back with my browser to the publishing page, and loose everything. I still havn’t quite gotten into my head that the cross on the right is for getting out of the preview. I’ve lost my article a couple of times, hopefully enough to have learned from my mistake :)

Is there a fix for the first one ? And maybe add a resize option ? Would be amazing.

Edit: On chromium.

Gurlic has a pretty amazing set of article/blog-related features, but at the moment, no one could be blamed for thinking the community/social media aspect is all there is to the site. So I’m making this post for two reasons:

  1. To tell you to check out the article features! Look at for example. It’s a ‘publication’ filled with articles. You can make your own article by starting a post, and then clicking ‘make this an article’ at a bottom to go to the fancy article editor. You can create your own publication via the ‘create a community’ link and choose type ‘publication’.

  2. To brainstorm about the best ways to make these features more obvious. I have the idea that @root is a bit swamped with work on Gurlic and I don’t want to just throw vague suggestions and requests at him. So let’s get some brains together and come up with some more solid ideas. I’ll make a start in the comments.

@dmje Brainstorm post!
